Globular Cluster NGC 6304
History
This globular cluster was discovered by William Herschel on 30 April 1786. He classified it as bright nebula I 147 and noted: «Very bright, round gradually much brighter in the middle, 2.5' diameter.» [464]

The globular cluster NGC 6304 is located in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is on 9 June in opposition to the Sun. From Switzerland it can best be seen in the months March to August.
