Globular Cluster NGC 6304
History
This globular cluster was discovered by William Herschel on 30 April 1786. He classified it as bright nebula I 147 and noted: «Very bright, round gradually much brighter in the middle, 2.5' diameter.» [464]

The globular cluster NGC 6304 is located in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is on 10 June in opposition to the Sun. From Switzerland it can best be seen in the months February to September.
